Responsibilities of GRNSW
The Greyhound Racing New South Wales or GRNSW is a one autonomous body not under government direction. And it has six members including the NSW Greyhound Breeders Owners & Trainers Association, NSW National Coursing Association, TAB clubs, country clubs, industry participants, and independent chairperson.
As a body not subject to government control, GRNSW indeed has self-contained responsibilities. And these responsibilities are the following:
• To develop strategies and control business
• To register race clubs
• To set race dates
• To distribute TAB payments received in accordance to the Racing Distribution Agreement
• To develop or review policy related to breeding and grading
And GRNSW has been performing its responsibilities so far. In fact just lately, it has decided to conduct an out of competition testing of greyhounds to find out which greyhound or greyhounds will become questionable for the use of erythropoietin or EPO and even its derivatives.
Before GRNSW pushed through with the out of competition testing of greyhounds, there were already tests for EPO and its derivatives but only for race night samples. Therefore , GRNSW decided to conduct an out of competition testing of greyhounds to better settle issues with use of EPO and its derivatives.
And just more similar tests that GRNSW will perform to make sure everything will remain as under control. It has been doing what is right.
Professor Percy Allan is the GRNSW Chairman, while Mr. Brent Hogan is the Chief Executive. Well these two are now worth praising for doing a great job as administrators of Greyhound Racing New South Wales or GRNSW. The non-government greyhound racing body is now a success because the two have been around to make sure its responsibilities are being performed. For being great administrators of GRNSW, Professor Allan and Mr. Hogan are truly worth praising.
Know More About The Rolling Stones
In April of 1962, the Rolling Stones was formed in England with the initial line up composed of: Brian Jones (guitar and harmonica), Mick Jagger (vocalist), Keith Richards (guitar), and Ian Stewart (pianist). They are now considered one of the greatest rock bands in history. But they did not start as rock musicians, but more of a rhythm and blues group. They were content with playing rhythm and blues music as well as playing cover songs. But the true Rolling Stones music emerged when they started to write their own songs, particularly because of the songwriting duo of Keith Richards and Mick Jagger.
The group’s early history.
Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were friends way back in the 1950s and they shared the same passion for rock music especially for Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters music. They soon met with Brian Jones, Ian Stewart, and Charlie Watts. The group then decided to play blues music together and would practice with the intention of starting their own rhythm and blues band.
If there is one music artist who has the greatest influence on the band, and not just pertaining to the Rolling Stones music, it would be Muddy Waters. It was from one of his songs that they got their name. Keith Richards said that Brian Jones was then on the phone trying to place an ad for the band on a magazine. When Jones was asked what their name was, he noticed the Mudd Waters LP beside him and picked the song, “Rolling Stone”.
Two major forces contributed to the early success of the Rolling Stones. The first one is the stepping in of Andrew Loog Oldham as the band’s manager and producer in 1963. He was credited for giving the band its bad boy image as a complete reversal of the good boy image of The Beatles who were enjoying tremendous success in the 60s.
He also got the band’s first record deal with Decca Records who gave them favorable terms. It was said because of the guilt that the executives of Decca felt at that time for passing on The Beatles. As a result, the Rolling Stones got better royalty rates and more artistic freedom for their songs and albums. And soon afterward, Rolling Stones merch were starting to come out for the benefit of the growing number of fans.
The other major force that happened to the band was when Keith Richards and Mick Jagger started to write songs together. Oldham insisted on the band writing their own songs, in a way to duplicate what the Lennon/McCartney songwriting partnership had achieved.
There have been many changes in the line up of the band, but the most prominent was the departure of Brian Jones, considered by many as the true founder of the Rolling Stones. Jones died in 1969 due to drowning.
A lot more history of fame and great songs followed for the Rolling Stones, but just like with any other music legend, it is the early years that are often deemed the most important.
And you as a fan, you can show your support and dedication to these legends of the rock and roll era through their band merch that showcase their personalities and declare to the world how good the Rolling Stones really are.
