She plays little J on Gossip Girl and now she’s doing the music thing- the whole breakdown is up next.

Hey guys, Welcome back to ClevverTV. I’m Joslyn Davis in the Beverly Hills studio with a profile that’s all music on Taylor Momsen. Just last year, Momsen debuted with her band The Pretty Reckless, and has since gone to reportedly say that music is her “only goal.”

Taylor is obviously very serious about her music career as she is taking a very long leave of absence from Gossip Girl to go on the always-popular Vans Warped Tour. Some insiders say that the loss of little J is due to creative reasons, but many insiders think that Tay’s taking the break to focus on her passion for music.

The Pretty Reckless was founded by Momsen, who also serves at lead singer. The band was initially called “The Reckless,” but had to change it’s name due to some trademark issues. As far inspiration goes, Taylor has noted her musical influences as Nirvana, The Beatles, Joan Jett, and Courtney Love. Her music however is not what she thinks people would expect from her. Taylor says that their debut album will include dark, heavy sounding tracks, but that there will also be a good amount of “light, fun stuff as well.”

The Pretty Reckless has already opened for big bands like The Veronicas, and the music on the myspace for the group is getting great feedback. The band is currently signed to label heavyweight Interscope Records. Aside from plans to hit the entire USA on the Vans Warped Tour this summer, TPR is also featured on the soundtrack for a new movie called Kick Ass. Their debut release will be out in May.
